Chinese window

That is the final project of my grade 12 Visual Art class. The diameter of the circular board is around one meter, and now this project is nailed on the wall of my high school. I chose to cut a wood board into a circular shape to represent the hollow out window of Chinese classic garden. Looking through the window, you can see the pretty view of the garden. Actually, I want to create a series of that kind of window. Patterns of windows will slightly different and the background of windows will be totally different, which means every time you look through the window, you will get a different view.

The National Stadium - Beijing, China

The National Stadium was built for the Olympics in 2008. It is also called 'The Bird's Nest" because of the form of this architecture. I really like the stadium since it looks simple but elegant. Also, the configuration is creative since the appearance of the stadium is also the structure of it. Additional random-looking steels were added on to blend the construction, which makes the architecture look simple but have a strong visual impact.

Conch channel, Sichuan, China

This photograph records the first ray of sunshine at Conch channel. Conch channel is located at the foot of Gongga snow mountain in Sichuan, a province of China. It is interesting that glaciers appear in very low altitude. The photograph seems like volcanic eruption because of the red shades on the top of the mountain; however, it is actually the first ray of sunshine. I like this photography since it is interesting to see the contrast between what the picture looks like and what it actually is.
